Arriving by Plane

Switzerland had 3 airports :

  • Geneva (the closest)
  • Zurich
  • Basel

Both Geneva and Zurich airports have a train station directly within the airport complex. Basel Airport does not have its own train station – would would need to take a bus to the railway station (SBB).

From the airports you can proceed to Lausanne by train (CFF-SBB) – highly recommended as this is faster than by car.

Arriving by Train

The destination train station is Lausanne or Morges stations. Train timetables and other details can be found on the Swiss Railway website (CFF-SBB)

From the station in Lausanne you can take the Métro M1 and M2 (M2 => direction Croisettes until Flon, then change to M1 direction Rennes until the EPFL stop. This journey will take around 20 minutes from Lausanne station.

From the airports you an proceed to Lausanne by train (CFF-SBB) – highly recommended as this is faster than by car.
